The Importance of Phonemic Awareness in Teaching Reading

Are you interested in understanding how to better support the development of phonological awareness and phonics with oral hard of hearing students? This workshop will provide clarity on these critical pre-reading and reading skills and suggest strategies and materials focusing on their development. As well, you will be given an introduction to the Touchphonics System ®, a researched-based hands-on approach to phonics and word study. The Touchphonics Program ® helps at risk students achieve success. This workshop will be appropriate for staff working in the elementary years.
